The Edinburgh Student Journal of Science (ESJS) is peer-reviewed by PhD students, professionally formatted, and receives a DOI with indexing across numerous academic databases (Google Scholar, CrossRef etc.). All submissions are processed through this website using our online software.
ESJS is a student-led, peer-reviewed, Open Access journal. All content is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, unless otherwise stated. There are no fees to access or publish in the journal.

Aims & Scope
The Edinburgh Student Journal of Science (ESJS) highlights the multidisciplinary research carried out by undergraduate students studying science. Created in 2024, ESJS is a way for students to gain experience in writing, preparing, and publishing their work. Works from later year undergraduate students studying science degrees are welcome, whether they result from academic projects, summer internships/projects, or independent research. Articles written collaboratively by groups of students are also welcome. More details about the submission process and full criteria for prospective authors can be found in the 'Submissions' tab.
Publication Frequency
ESJS publishes under a rolling publication model, publishing one issue per year.
